Sinopse

La educación superior enfrenta actualmente uno de los mayores desafíos de su historia: formar profesionales altamente competentes sin descuidar la salud integral de quienes transitan por las instituciones universitarias. Las transformaciones sociales, los cambios tecnológicos, las nuevas dinámicas de aprendizaje y el incremento de los problemas relacionados con la salud mental han convertido al bienestar estudiantil en una prioridad para las universidades de todo el mundo. En este escenario, comprender los factores que favorecen la salud física y psicológica constituye una necesidad científica, educativa y social de enorme relevancia.

La presente obra, Condición Física como Predictor de Bienestar Mental en Estudiantes de la Universidad del Atlántico, representa una valiosa contribución al conocimiento interdisciplinario que integra las ciencias del ejercicio, la salud pública, la psicología, la neurociencia y la educación superior. A partir de una rigurosa revisión de la literatura científica y del desarrollo de una investigación aplicada en población universitaria, los autores demuestran que la condición física no solo constituye un indicador del estado funcional del organismo, sino también un importante factor asociado con el bienestar psicológico, el rendimiento académico y la calidad de vida.
